Designed by Henry Yorke Mann – one of the west coast’s most in demand architects – this stunning Eagle Island residence in West Vancouver is a true masterpiece of both design and location. To say it blends seamlessly with its surroundings is an understatement – wedged between the waterfront, this house really does seem to grow organically out of the landscape. Our team at Quantum has actually had the privilege of working with Henry on many projects, including this beautifully-crafted home, and most recently got the chance to give it a major renovation in collaboration with Euoi Studio and the owners.
Over the years, we’ve worked our way through multiple renovations of this house for various owners – each time carefully making sure to hold on to its unique character while still giving the space a fresh new lease of life. And it’s a combination of those big cedar beams, the basalt stone, and the massive wide-plank cherry flooring that really creates this atmosphere of warmth and peace that just feels utterly of a piece with the breathtaking view outside.
