Not many construction companies in the Lower Mainland can boast of the gorgeous cabins they build on the spectacular islands of Howe Sound. Being a coastal community, we have many clients who have secondary properties on Gambier, Keats, Pasley and Bowen Islands. As long as we’ve been building in the Lower Mainland, we’ve been building on islands too. But the process is very different.
Remote location projects require special skills and a reverence for Mother Nature. Not only do our projects settle into wild and often rocky coast lines, getting to and from work-sites requires a respectful consideration of weather conditions.
Over the decades, Quantum has built durable relationships with key players who are skilled, willing and adept at working on remote locations to wire, plumb, install, and barge materials. We plan, design, and build all structures from the ocean to the cabin: docks, breakwaters, ramps, boat houses, guest houses, main cabins, septic fields, solar powered systems, patios, decks, recreationally landscaped areas including roads, greenhouses, and even tree houses! We have our own boat for island work and use water taxis when needed for crew drop off and pick up.
Some of our favourite projects are on the islands—there is nothing as beautiful as a stunningly well-crafted island-cabin, nestled in the trees, with an expansive wooden deck, overlooking the ocean . . .
