The original cabin was built in the 1950's for a bachelor who built docks throughout Howe Sound. The current owners asked that we bring the cabin up to modern, livable standards, and that we build a small guest house on the property to compliment the cabin.
We preserved the cabin's original look and feel, but rebuilt much of the original structure. The support posts on the cabin's exterior are all made from logs we recovered from the beach. Due to the remote location of the site, materials were transported by barge.
As well as a new bedroom and kitchen, we added new wood-framed, double - glazed windows; modern lighting; and solar electricity, making this cabin a comfortable, all-weather retreat. Our craftsmanship, attention to detail and understanding of our client's desires combined to create a functional and aesthetically pleasing solution that our clients are thrilled with.
